Longtime friend and colleague, Jared Hogan, approached me with the task of writing music for his upcoming short film Small Little Things. He wanted me to draw closely upon the character and tones found in the music of such bands as Grouper, Mount Eerie, Joy Division and many others with similar characteristics (organ, droning guitars, a lot of reverb and delay, an ethereal sense). Bearing this direction in mind I set out to capture the sweeping frozen landscapes and the drama that is created from the two young lovers' existence in these environments.
